Abstract:
The author examines women's volunteer and professional involvement in Jewish communal leadership. She presents research findings and proposes underlying causes for the existing underrepresentation of women. She argues that this underrepresentation is counterproductive for Jewish organizations aspiring to attract younger constituents. She also puts forth strategic recommendations to remedy the status quo.
