Abstract:
The author discusses an initiative of the University of Kansas Hillel called "Focus the Nation," a national project that sought to make climate change a major campaign issue in the 2008 US presidential and congressional elections. The project culminated in a two-day event featuring a teach-in and a roundtable discussion. Participants included journalists and elected officials from the local, state and national level. The number of students involved made the project a success, the author explains.
