Abstract:
The authors address a basic assumption that Jewish education leads to Jewish continuity. Specifically, they question whether education will prevent or overcome assimilation. They suggest that searching for a causal relationship between Jewish education and continuity will require a massive investment in existing institutions and the establishment of sites where thinking, research, experimentation and evaluation can be undertaken. They recommend undertaking this evaluation and make suggestions for carrying it out.
