Creating a Mentoring Culture

Abstract:
Although many educational institutions encourage or mandate mentoring, the author asserts that there is not a standard for such mentoring practices that occur. She advocates creating a mentoring culture that sustains a continuum of expectation, which, in turn, generates standards and consistency of mentoring practice. The author outlines eight hallmarks of a mentoring culture.
