Abstract:
Part of a series of reports based on information from the National Jewish Population Survey of 2000-01, this report highlights demographic information regarding elderly American Jews. The author divides this population into the "young elderly" (ages 65-74) and the "old elderly" (ages 75 and older), and in order to discuss demographic trends. Characteristics covered include gender, region, marital status, education, employment status, income, household composition, residence, immigrant status, health, social service need, Jewish communal affiliation and participation, volunteerism, intermarriage, and Jewish denomination.
