Abstract:
Jewish education policies must stem from a thorough understanding of the social context in which Jewish educational systems find themselves. This includes the larger society and its educational systems, and the educational needs and resources of the local Jewish community. Nevertheless, some dominant social and educational trends that have been pervasive in Jewish communities worldwide can be noted.
