Abstract:
The author surveys the situation in American public school systems vis-Ã -vis the separation of church and state, as well as the positions taken by Protestant and Catholic groups. He explains the reasons behind the Jewish community's dedication to a strict interpretation of church-state separation, and discusses how this position applies in the case of public schools.
