Abstract:
The author reviews trends and concerns regarding education, training and recruitment in the field of social work in the United States, without special focus on the Jewish communal field. The author outlines the decline in applications to social work schools, trends in financial aid, the increase in demand for social work services, salaries and working conditions for social workers, and other problems facing the field.
