Abstract:
The middle phase of the foster care placement process is the heart of the experience, the author asserts. It is during this period, the author explains, that the case worker helps the child and the parent sustain the placement and find positive meaning in it. The author describes the types of problems parent and child might face during this crucial time, and the role and function of the case worker.
