Abstract:
The author argues that the field of social work, and the Jewish social work field in particular, has not done nearly enough to serve the needs of retarded children and their parents. He discusses services caseworkers ought to provide in the realms of diagnostic procedures, therapies, institutional care when appropriate, and others.
