Abstract:
The author describes problems involved in requests for placement of young children in terms of the personal and cultural motivations of the parents as influenced by the Israeli scene, as well as the cultural and emotional motivations of the social worker. She argues that the Israeli social work field needs to address cultural problems more openly, and that Israeli social workers ought to put more trust in immigrant parents during this placement process.
