Abstract:
The author discusses criteria by which social workers can judge whether to treat family dysfunction while keeping parents and children united, or to seek placement for the child in order to better assist both parents and children. She identifies a number of common archetypical family dynamics, and discusses the best solutions for each. She provides case examples from her agency.
