Abstract:
The author argues that physical educators in Jewish Community Centers (JCCs) are too often isolated within the gym, with no expectations of contribution to the center's goals apart from sporting activities. Instead, the author contends, physical educators and center administrators ought to have proactive dialogue regarding the center's mission, the skills which the physical educator possesses, and the ways in which physical education programs fit into the larger whole of center activity.
