Abstract:
The author presents the results of a study designed to assess the readiness of social work graduates to meet the expectations of their first job positions. The author contends that many graduates are not adequately prepared for administrative and supervisory duties. He presents major findings of the study, discusses implications for the field, and presents several recommendations to close the gap between education and practice.
