Abstract:
The authors describe the experience of their agency, the Samuel Field YM-YHMA, with group counseling for children of one-parent homes. One of the major foci of the group's work, the authors explain, is helping children who have experienced parental divorce or the death of a parent to navigate the grieving process. The authors describe group processes, and provide transcripts of dialogue from group sessions for illustration.
