Abstract:

The author asserts that the field of social work in Israel ought to reform its social work education and recruitment methods, which he contends were mostly copied from traditional American methods. In addition to reforming admissions practices for collegiate social work programs, the author advocates modular curricula and non-credit tutorial programs. He argues that Israel must pursue bold and experimental expansions of its social work field in order to meet growing needs of the Israeli population.
