The author explores the responsibilities of Jewish nursery schools to the Jewish family. The author outlines characteristics of American families in general, and Jewish families in particular, and discusses how parents and preschool staff can be partners in fostering Jewish identity through constant expression of a "culture code," Jewish concepts expressed in actions, activities, and Hebrew words to describe them.
