Abstract:
The author reports on a two year experience in initiating and leading an Alzheimer Family Support Group as a pilot service program for a family agency. He argues that in order to serve dementia patients and their families living in the community, family agencies have a responsibility to train social workers to work with this population. Social workers in turn have an obligation to learn to function in this complex area.
