Abstract:
The author argues that strategic build-up of demographic patterns among world Jewry calls for urgent assessment, policy formulations and well-considered decision-making aimed at reversing or moderating negative trends, and stimulating positive development. Main issues for policy evaluation and intervention touch upon Jewish identification, family patterns, socioeconomic change and the implications of demography for Israel's standing in a prolonged situation of military and political conflict.
