Abstract:
The author describes the project launched by the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society, in cooperation with the State Department and the Immigration Bureau, to send a special representative to Europe to launch an organization in a neutral state to be a clearing house for all inquiries regarding refugees and missing persons, to help refugees and immigrants in connecting to family and support systems, and to disseminate information about American immigration regulations to European Jews affected by the war.
