Abstract:

The Transportation Rules, the need for which prompted the creation of the National Conference of Jewish Charities over a decade ago, have proven themselves to be effective in dealing with the problem the ill-considered transportation of needy families about the country. Although the cost of following these voluntary rules seems to fall more heavily on smaller communities, their efficacy depends upon their implementation, which will benefit everybody, including these smaller cities, in the long run.
