Abstract:
The author presents the results of a survey sent to several Jewish community federations to determine the effect of the economic downturn and increased unemployment on the fundraising and activities of these communities. It found that overall, Jewish agencies were not negatively affected and were able to counteract the discontinuance of small subscriptions by increases and new subscriptions, showing the commitment and dedication of the Jewish community and its social service agencies.
