Abstract:
The author describes the assistance that is necessary to best help Jewish immigrant girls flourish on their arrival to the United States. There is a need for suitable, healthy affordable housing, vocational guidance as well as training, and effective English literacy education that is feasible in the context of full time employment. The Immigrant Aid Work of the Council of Jewish Women is currently working to collect information on housing, employment, and education, which it will distribute to organizations, social workers, and volunteers that work with immigrant girls.
