Abstract:

The author, a congregational rabbi, notes the dearth of resources available to Jewish communal professionals in the area of divorce counseling. He states that wttention to this critical problem is in creasing and practical suggestions are being developed. In keeping with this heightened awareness and definitive need, he describes how his congregation, in conjunction with the Jewish Family and Children's Service, developed a very thorough and workable model for Divorce Education. The author found that the Divorce Workshops have given him, as a Rabbi, a new and effective tool to do more than just "hold the hand" of a member who is hurting deeply.
