Abstract:
Jewish agencies and the whole voluntary sector are at a turning point in deciding whether to seek large amounts of increasingly available public funding. If they do receive such funds they can serve more people and become larger and more powerful. If they do not, they would do less, be smaller, and operate within more traditionally prescribed limits as to program and clientele. It is apparent that many agencies believing that "more is better," have opted for the former and will continue to do so.
