Abstract:

If there has been some erosion of the Jewish commitment to the principles of Jewish community relations, it has not been warranted by objective conditions or changes. The author argues that the first necessity is to regain and resharpen our focus; he states that the main business of Jewish community relations is political freedom, not social justice.
