Abstract:
The author suggests that traditional services offered by Jewish family services agencies do not provide enough assistance for the specific needs of single-parent families. While he favors retaining all traditional services offered, the author suggests adding a number of new programs to correct this imbalance, including day-care centers, financial assistance, vocational training, homemaker services, use of Big Brothers/Big Sisters programs, and even employing shadchonim, matchmakers.
