Abstract:
The author reviews the political, social and demographic changes, both positive and negative, affecting the Jewish communal profession from 1945 to 1979. He suggests three broad requirements for the Jewish communal field to respond to these changes: for Jewish communal work to be 1) more Jewish, 2) more personalized, and 3) more unified.
