Abstract:
The author, the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation and the Jewish Community Center of Charlotte, NC, describes his agency's program for assisting resettled Soviet Jewish families. Since Charlotte has a relatively small Jewish population, his program relies heavily on volunteers. The author describes some of the challenges faced by the program, and some of the solutions his community has found to address them.
