Abstract:
The author raises a number of dilemmas confronting the Jewish community of Quebec province, related to the rise of French Quebec nationalism. Lack of response to these issues, argues the author, has resulted in the Jewish community of Quebec feeling a sense of leaderlessness, hopelessness, and pessimism about its future in Quebec. Nonetheless, the author suggests, with proper leadership the community may be able to address these issues and strike the right balance between integration and strength of identity.
