Abstract:
The author responds to an excoriation of the American Jewish educational system by Bernard Olshansky in the Journal of Jewish Communal Service (June 1979). He argues that unrealistic expectations and an inaccurate perception of the reality on the ground are the true sources of discontent for Olshansky and others who portray the Jewish educational system in alarmist terms.
