Abstract:
The author suggests that four "new realities" have emerged since 1967 which have changed the nature of the job of Jewish community center executive. These are: (1) the increase in power and influence of the Jewish Federation; (2) changes in the nature of Jewish communal lay leadership; (3) increased complexity in the executive's job function; and (4) changes in the wider Jewish professional scene.
