Abstract:

As community needs grow while government funding decreases, public policy advocacy is increasingly essential. It is needed to combat proposed changes in tax cuts and a movement to silence the human service sector. Welfare reform, which will have a profound effect on all poor families, is a prime example of why Family Service agencies must be alert to political mood swings and advocate ceaselessly for the needs of their chents.
