Although the specific focus and subject matter of the debate have shifted over the years, the issues surrounding synagogue-federation relationship remain essentially the
same. This discussion summarizes some of the major findings emerging from a recent study examining synagogue-federation relationships in 12 Jewish communities. Interorganizational theory is applied as the theoretical framework of analysis.
