Abstract:

The 1982 American Jewish Year Book (AJYB) contained new estimates of the Jewish population in various countries of the world at the end of 1980. The statistical tables are reprinted here using the United Nations data for the general population as of mid-year 1980. The proportion of Jews per 1000 of the respective country's total population has been recomputed accordingly.
