Abstract:
The author offers a detailed outline and analysis of Reconstructionist Judaism. He looks at the nature of reconstructionism, its history and institutions, and its constituency. He suggests that the significance of reconstructionism and the importance of studying the movement extend beyond its accomplishments and are in fact basic to an understanding of American Judaism.
