Abstract:
The author theorizes on this popular sound bite about Judaism and states that this formulation has no resonance for Jewish youth today. He finds a need for a new foundation upon which a compelling framework for Jewish life can be built and urges Jewish educators to develop educational programs of substance and meaning for Jewish families and youth. He suggests use of a new apothegm for a vibrant Jewish future: "I came, I studied, we changed the world."
