Abstract:
Operation Chicken Soup is a program that inspires teenagers in public and private schools throughout Manhattan to take ownership of all aspects of their community service experience. These teens run a soup kitchen twice a month for the needy in New York. The author argues that the high level of responsibility and sense of accomplishment makes this program popular to area teens.
