Abstract:
The synagogue-based early childhood education program can be a vital point of engagement in Jewish life for less affiliated Jewish families. In order to fully capitalize on the engagement potential of these programs, synagogues should shift their values and practices to reflect the importance of this 'gateway' to Jewish life. The author offers practical steps to reframe the position of the early childhood program in the synagogue community.
