Abstract:

This review of the demography of the American Jewish community focuses on the major areas of concern to demographers - size, composition, distribution, and the components of change (fertility, mortality and migration). The presentation, however, would not be complete without some attention to intermarriage. The implications of the current situation for future patterns of growth and identification will be explored.
