Abstract:
As part of a 4-part series on the challenges of teaching texts in translation, the author reflects on teaching Hebrew literature in translation. She looks at the positive and negative effects of the plethora of English translations that have come out in recent years. She argues that even more important as a resource for the classroom are books that provide readings and interpretations of Hebrew texts, together with the original pieces and their English translations.
