Abstract:
The author presents a study of American and Canadian Jews who chose to go to Israel between 1950-1966 and became permanent residents between 1962-1966. He presents their replies to a number of specific questions about the following: their American background; their reasons for leaving America and going to Israel; their view of why some Americans leave Israel; and their appraisal of the future of American Jewry.
