Abstract:

The author finds that the assumption of a crisis of Jewish identity erosion is undermining efforts to build rich Jewish identities and compelling communities. He argues that measuring the vitality of Jewish life in the present age by traditional behaviors is myopic and that statisticians need to measure new identity markers.
