Abstract:
In this opening piece to the Commission on a New Jewish Vision/Agenda, Elazar attempts to frame the challenge being undertaken by the Commission, which he sees as an informal generator of ideas meant to be relevant to, and taken up and engaged by, the entire Jewish world. He insists on the religious, halachic, and political dimensions to the task, and outlines major problems/groups to be confronted.
