Abstract:
Canadian policy towards the diversity of its population has gone through three phases: binationalism, muticulturalism and the open society. The author assesses the impact on the Jewish community in general and individual Jewish identity in particular of each of these approaches. He concludes that the earlier two policies were more conducive to Jewish continuity.
