Abstract:
This document is the edited text of a symposium delivered at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, in April 1987, addressing the question of whether or not Jews can truly be "at home" in America, or whether Jews can be safe only in Israel. The discussion was prompted by the Jonathan and Ann Pollard affair, but all presenters discuss the issue as transcends this particular.
