The author, whose life work is finding hidden Jewish communities and assisting them to reconnect with Judaism, discusses the semi-secret Jewish community in Ibiza, one of the Balearic islands in Spain. The author outlines the reasons Jews in Ibiza were able to live partly openly since the Spanish Inquisition, maintaining synagogues and schools.
