Abstract:
The author outlines the conclusions of the World Jewish Congress's report entitled "The Implications of Israeli-Arab Peace for World Jewry", which the author asserts would have been more accurately entitled "The Present Condition of Israel and World Jewry". The author contends that the report excellently summarizes the economic, political and cultural conditions of Diaspora Jewish communities, emphasizing the danger of assimilation. The author further discusses perspectives and assumptions underlying the report, such as the presumption that Israel is crucial to Jewish continuity and survival.
