Abstract:
The author examines ways in which mentors can help Jewish adults to experience congregational trips to Israel as religiously, spiritually and self-critically transformative experiences. She contends that trip planners ought to ensure that a broad mix of options for reflective practices is available to participants, and that creating a role of mentor both on the trip and back in the home community can encourage ongoing reflection of these kinds.
