Abstract:
The speaker responds to the first Annual Assessment produced by the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute. In order to foster Jewish identity, the speaker suggests: 1) Strengthening the core gateway institutions 2) Increasing the number of participants in Jewish summer camps and trips to Israel 3) Recruiting and retaining the highest quality Jewish educators and communal professionals. The author calls on the philanthropic community to raise the necessary funds by inspiring donors with the language of 'opportunity' instead the one of 'crisis'.
